SUTRAS
First an Odyssey, then Drishti and now Sutras!
If one sees the literary meaning of Odyssey… it is a long adventurous journey or
experience!
Enriched by those experiences, perceptions change, giving a new Drishti!
And now Dr. Maladkar has the power to give Sutras, initiating the readers on an eternal spiritual journey!
I am privileged and honoured to express my stray thoughts about Sutras!
I experienced the bliss while reading it!
The language is lucid and simple… unlike philosophical jargon; which directly touches those inner tender cords of the heart.
A story of an Alzheimer’s patient’s husband brought tears to my eyes. It was not sadness but an expression of a blissful experience.
‘Being lonely’ and ‘being alone’… two simple words but most meaningful.
I perceived it instantaneously when I read it! Although I have many a times experienced that aloneness, I had never articulated it.
Dr. Maladkar’s words have that powerful magic!
The German folktale — Rumpelstiltskin… the same experience!
Such small, beautiful stories unfold the wonderful inner world!
Numerous quotes and anecdotes are elaborated so beautifully and powerfully that they give pure joy — joy that can’t be narrated but has to be experienced!
It is not a discourse, but he (Dr. Maladkar) is answering the Seeker’s queries.
That is our age-old tradition of GURU–SHISHYA PARAMPARA!
I may say here that the word Teacher is not synonymous with Guru.
गुप्तरुपम् प्रदर्शयति स: गुरु
(One who skillfully unravels the Eternal Truth is Guru!)
Sant Dnyaneshwar, at the tender age of 16 years, has written:
बोली अरुपाचे रुप दावीन अतींद्रिय ते दाखवीन इंद्रियांकरवी
— संत ज्ञानेश्वर
(That supreme power… Nirgun, Nirakar — no form, no appearance — I will reveal it to you through your five senses.)
